There have been some big sea changes in technology’s influence on music and our interaction with it. Think about vinyl – invented in the ’20s, somewhat improved over the years, replaced almost entirely with the advent of CD (we’ll skip over tapes and mix tapes quickly), which in turn saw its demise and the consequent rise in terror from the record labels in the ongoing rise and rise and dominance now of online streaming. Does our culture shift in accordance? I think it does and Sarel and I chat about things in this podcast.
